The Cabin

“You have put it together so thoughtfully, and we loved discovering every artistic nook and cranny.”

A Classic Mountain House, Made More Comfortable

Camp Juniper is a 1967 A-frame near Lake Cle Elum, furnished with old things, useful things, handmade things, and a few modern conveniences we would rather not do without.

It is designed for adult couples and small groups of friends who like good furniture, music, cooking, hot tubs, quiet mornings, and places with a little evidence of previous lives.

Nothing here is arranged to resemble a resort. The cabin is comfortable, personal, and easy to settle into. It also remains an older mountain house, with a few quirks and very little interest in pretending otherwise.

Settle In

The main room is the center of the cabin: a place for coffee in the morning, drinks before dinner, a game that becomes unexpectedly competitive, or several hours spent deciding what to play next.

There are books, compact discs, games, art, old furniture, and a Sonos system—everything needed to settle in for a conversation, a movie, a board game, or an afternoon that quietly stretches into evening.

The Malm fireplace anchors the living room. It is available when local fire restrictions allow; during burn bans, the cabin’s other forms of warmth remain fully operational.

Dinner in the A-Frame

The dining table seats six and shares the main room with the fireplace and living area.

It works equally well for dinner, games, puzzles, maps, laptops, and the gradual accumulation of coffee cups that accompanies a weekend indoors. Meals remain part of the evening rather than becoming a separate event in another room.

A Kitchen For Cooks

The kitchen is considerably larger than most people expect to find in an A-frame.

The kitchen is stocked by people who cook. Alongside everyday dishes, knives, utensils, glassware, and good cookware, guests will find a Vitamix, KitchenAid mixer, air fryer, Instant Pot, sous vide circulator, OXO tools, and several thrifted pieces of All-Clad.

Guests regularly tell us it is the best-stocked Airbnb kitchen they have encountered. We hear this often enough to mention it.

A proper main-floor suite

The primary suite occupies one end of the downstairs addition and is unusually spacious for an A-frame cabin.

It includes a king bed, substantial storage, a private deck looking into the trees, and an attached full bathroom with a walk-in shower, bidet, and heated towel rack.

A second full bathroom is nearby and easily reached from the kitchen and living room, making the cabin especially comfortable for two couples or a small group.

A full laundry room is also downstairs for longer stays, wet hikes, and snow-covered clothing.

There are large windows with cream curtains, a small desk by the window with plants and framed pictures on the wall, and a patterned rug on the floor.

Flexible Sleeping Spaces

Two open sleeping areas upstairs hold four twin beds between them: a bunk bed and two standalone twins, with room for reading, games, television, or work.

The larger bonus area has an attached full bathroom with a shower.

Upstairs includes one private bedroom and two open bonus areas, rather than three separate enclosed bedrooms.

Upstairs Has Room To Spare

The upper floor is less formal and more flexible.

One enclosed bedroom contains two queen beds and a writing desk.

The Loft

The spiral staircase leads opens to a lofted area with desk, chair for reading and one of our favorite thrift finds, a homemade driftwood lamp.

Around The Grounds

Camp Juniper sits beneath a canopy of mature trees, with several places to eat, read, gather, or simply disappear for a while. The back deck handles long dinners; the hammock handles considerably less ambitious plans. A fire circle and yard games fill out the rest when conditions allow.

Just Beyond Camp

Private community access to Lake Cle Elum is a short walk away. Roslyn, Ronald, Salmon La Sac, and the Alpine Lakes Wilderness are all close enough to make getting out easy—and coming back to the cabin equally appealing.

Character without unnecessary inconvenience

Camp Juniper has fast fiber internet, Sonos, streaming television, a couple desks, full laundry facilities, smart-lock entry, and a 50-amp NEMA 14-50 outlet for guest EV charging.

It also has compact discs, physical books, old furniture, View-Master reels, board games, a spiral stair, and several activities that cannot be updated remotely.

The modern elements are here to remove hassles. They are not intended to organize the stay.

Good to Know

One dog is welcome with the applicable pet fee. The cabin is smoke-free and not available for parties or events. Exterior security cameras monitor exterior areas only.

The house has stairs, a spiral staircase, changes in level, and open sleeping spaces. The ramped approach may be helpful to some guests, but the property has not been evaluated as ADA accessible.

Indoor and outdoor solid-fuel fires depend on current burn restrictions. The gas grill and outdoor propane fire table are available when applicable rules permit it.

Is Camp Juniper For You?

Camp Juniper works particularly well for close friends, couples and relaxed families who enjoy cooking, music, old things, outdoor time, and places with more personality than polish.

The cabin can accommodate a larger group, but the two enclosed bedrooms offer the greatest privacy. The four twin beds upstairs are in open spaces and are best understood as flexible additional sleeping rather than four more bedrooms.

The property is in a quiet mountain community rather than on an isolated wilderness parcel. Neighbors exist, parties do not belong here, and the objects inside are meant to be used with ordinary care.

For the right guests, it is a comfortable and personal place to spend a few days in the mountains.
